77, passed on April 29th surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Irene Goncalves Afonso Martins. Born in Covas do Barroso, Portugal, he was a son of the late Antonio and Maria de Conseicao Pires Martins.
He had been employed by American Insulated Wire of Pawtucket and South Attleboro for 39 years before retiring. He was a member of the Lusitania Club.

Besides his wife Mario is survived by two sons, Antonio Martins and his wife Meaghan, and Eduardo Martins, and his wife Carla, his siblings, Albina, Judite, Fernanda, Alexandrino and Manuel and four grandchildren Abigail, Shawn, Charles and Genevieve. he was the brother of the late Lucia Pires Martins

His funeral will be held Friday, May 4th at 8:30am from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive, Cumberland at 10am. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5pm until 8pm.
